Wall hangings

One day, while watching the two young granddaughters, the older one asked if I would sew her a Panda Bear.  I was sitting in the rocking chair and I said yes.  She came back to me ten minutes later and asked if I had made it yet.  I laughed and said No, that I would need more than 10 minutes.  Since her birthday was about a month away, I decided that this would be her birthday gift.  She told me that her sister would like one as well and that she would like a ballerina wall hanging for her birthday.  

The pink striped material was used for another granddaughter's pillow top which also has a ballerina embroidered on it.

TOTES I made these 3 totes.  I love the pockets on the front of the bag.  When I first tried the butterfly pattern, the set of three pockets is one piece of white fabric.  And so the first embroidery pattern messed up but continued with the other two patterns on the strip of fabric. I then cut out the two good patterns and created a smaller tote bag.  The tote bag, not pictured, has a lining with butterflies. I gave that bag to a lady at church.  She is always providing service for others. I wanted her to know that I appreciated her.   The blue tote bag I made because I like blue and it had the bicycle.  The bags have a zipper and I use the blue bag constantly now.  It is handy when I am shopping for one or two items and I can just put them in my bag instead of having to use a plastic store bag.   The next two bags were made to use up fabric.  When we moved to Illinois in 2002, the family next door moved in at the same time....

Chicago Bears Quilt

Our son-in-law is a Chicago Bears fan.  I found material that represented the teams colors and made this quilt.  Doug created a football player tossing the football as well as footballs and helmets as part of the quilted design.

Two quilts made for two granddaughters out of their infant clothes.  Looking at these quilts creates a lot of memories for their mom and dad as they remember their daughters wearing the clothes.  A lot of measuring and creating full squares so that a row would be even went into making these quilts.  The backing is butterflies.
