This wall hanging was made to help celebrate 2018 Halloween.  This is a panel, no piecing required.

Applique Quilt - Flowers

Image
I cannot remember the name of this quilt pattern.  I bought a new sewing machine in 2012 and the lady was offering a class to make this quilt.  This quilt teaches you the many different types of stitches that you can use that your machine offers.  I also learned some new techniques.  We haven't quilted it yet.  I can't wait until it is done.

Sunbonnet Sue at an angle

I thought this was a darling quilt.  It is not finished yet.  The finished edge has a scalloped finish and will be done in blue binding.  It was fun making these little girls and creating their outfits.

Wall hangings

Image
One day, while watching the two young granddaughters, the older one asked if I would sew her a Panda Bear.  I was sitting in the rocking chair and I said yes.  She came back to me ten minutes later and asked if I had made it yet.  I laughed and said No, that I would need more than 10 minutes.  Since her birthday was about a month away, I decided that this would be her birthday gift.  She told me that her sister would like one as well and that she would like a ballerina wall hanging for her birthday.   The pink striped material was used for another granddaughter's pillow top which also has a ballerina embroidered on it.

Pillow cases

Image
In March, 2018, my daughter asked me to make pillow cases for her daughters.  She bought two smaller size pillows for them and wanted to have some pillow cases made.  The younger one likes Snoopy.  So even though it was after Valentines Day, I knew she would like this material.  The older granddaughter asked for glitter, shiny material.  And she loves purple, so this was a good choice for her.

Santa Claus wall hanging

Image
My friend, Brenda, gave me this kit for Christmas one year.  It was fun to applique the trees, bear and Santa.  The saying should be "Berry Christmas", but I prefer Merry Christmas.

Table runner

Image
I made this table runner in January.  In 2012, Doug and I went to Oregon for his business.  And then we visited with family and drove around Oregon.  We stopped at a quilt store, I think in Sandy, Oregon, and the store owner said that he had designed a table runner.  It was really pretty and so I bought the pattern and material.  I was not able to sew it as the man had designed it.  So rather than toss the hours of work I had already put into the material, I created my own table runner.  I realize that the diamonds are not all that even and same size, however, the table runner has character!

Abby's Book Bag

I made this colorful book bag for my granddaughter when she turned 12 years old.

Springtime and Bunnies

Image
This is an adorable appliqued bunny wall hanging.  I gave this to our daughter, Amber.

Aprons

Image
More fun with the embroidery machine.  Doug and I made a few aprons for friends, children, and grandchildren.  My favorite is the apron with the smoke from the grill with the saying "Did you say extra crispy?".  Doug designed the pictures on the computer and then they were transferred to the embroidery machine.

Advent Calendars

Image
In 2010 I made these advent calendars for our four children.   This was also my first introduction to an embroidery machine.  I bought a small used one at the local quilt shop and embroidered the numbers.  The cute buttons are held onto by good old-fashioned snaps which I had to sew on the trees and the date squares by hand.  I glued the other half of the snap onto the buttons.  I bought a variety of fun buttons for everyone to enjoy as they counted down the days until Christmas.

Chicago Blackhawk quilt - 2018

Image
This quilt was made for our son-in-law Marc for his birthday in 2018.  He is a Chicago Blackhawk fan.

Bicycle Quilt - 2017

Image
I made this quilt for myself in 2017.  Since 2009 thru 2016, my friend Barbara and I rode our bikes along the Fox River.  We enjoyed many beautiful mornings watching the ducks, geese, egrets, deer and foxes that could be found along the river.

Christmas Fun Quilts

Image
One year Doug and I went to Shipshewana, Indiana (Amish Country) for the weekend.  I found this material in one of their quilting shops.  I made our three daughters each a quilt.  Doug quilted it with the same designs as on the material.  We showed one of the quilts in the Batavia Quilt Show in Illinois.

Service Project quilt-2009

Image
In 2009 the Stake Relief Society had a goal of donating 2009 quilts to the humanitarian project.  Since I had already started cross-stitching this top, I completed it and then added a backing.

Natalie's quilt

This quilt was made for our granddaughter in 2013.

Lap quilt

Image
February, 2014 - I made this lap quilt for my former boss, Janet.

Sunbonnet Sue Quilt

Image
This quilt is one of my favorites and came about accidentally.  I was making a different quilt where the little girls are to be place on an angle.  However, I didn't notice the error until I had made all sixteen.  Rather than discard them, I made them into this simple wall hanging quilt.

Neighbor Emily's baby quilt

Image
We gave our neighbor this quilt to welcome her baby girl into the world.  Doug created ducks to be quilted.

2012 - Amber's Christmas Quilt

Image
In 2012 (I think) I bought a new sewing machine with an embroidery feature.  The shop also offered a class in which I could learn to use the different patterns in embroidery.  It was a fun class to take and we were pleased with the results.  We gave it to Amber for her Christmas present.
