Our granddaughter gave birth to a son.  We are thrilled to be great-grandparents.  Here is his welcome to the world quilt. Stitching pattern is elephants.

Two quilts made for two granddaughters out of their infant clothes.  Looking at these quilts creates a lot of memories for their mom and dad as they remember their daughters wearing the clothes.  A lot of measuring and creating full squares so that a row would be even went into making these quilts.  The backing is butterflies.

My daughter asked me to make a quilt for her two daughters out of their baby clothes.  I cut the square from a soft pink cuddly bunting and put a trim around it.  I thought it looked really.  She asked me not to use it in the girls' quilts because this was an article of clothing that the girls never wore so it didn't hold any memory for her.  I thought the piece was really cute and so I created a quilt with this square being at the center.  I made four different types of borders to build the quilt up.  I found different types of borders that I had never done before and so I tried them out as a learning experience for me. Close look at the butterfly stitching that Doug used to quilt the quilt.
